HISTORY- Fredericksburg was officially founded in 1846. The Mill dates back to 1850, making it one of the earliest buildings in Fredericksburg. So who built the Mill? Farmers from the area recognizing the need for a mill formed a company called the Actien Mill Company with the local farmers being shareholders. The word “Actien” started appearing in later transactions with the name “action”, but the word actually derives from the German word “ Aktien” which means share or stock in a company. In 1871 the trustees of the mail company sold the building and all of its belongings for a hefty price of $15,500 to JT Johnson, the grandfather of President Lyndon B. Johnson. The history of the building goes on and on… So if you’re looking for an excellent investment, love history and like making money, then you have to take a look at the Fredericksburg Mill!
