This is truly a hidden gem when it comes to resale shops here in Fredericksburg! Trudy’s was opened back in 2010 as a way to provide alternative funding for the local Hill Country SPCA shelter, and is located next to the shelter at 3025 Highway 16 South in Fredericksburg.
The Shop’s main goal: help support the needs of the shelter animals. All proceeds from the sale of items in the shop go directly to fund the efforts of SPCA. When you shop at Trudy’s you are helping purchase bags of food, kennel supplies, medicine, surgeries, and a number of other things that benefit the animals waiting for their forever homes.
Trudy’s accepts a wide variety of items for donation. Men’s and women’s clothing; including summer and winter styles, coats, business attire, shoes and handbags. In addition to clothes, the resale store offers glassware, pottery, utensils, linens, fabric pieces, furniture of all kinds, musical instruments, jewelry, rugs, paintings, and other items for sale.
Need to furnish a B&B or guest house? Trudy’s receives high end and antique furniture regularly and would be happy to work with you to help furnish your B&B for an experience your guest will never forget!
What I love about Trudy’s Treasures is that they take the time to clean all items and wash all clothing before placing on the sales floor. Sometimes the clothing they receive still has the tags on it, and they receive brand name clothing frequently. The store itself is clean, open, bright and organized.
Trudy’s is truly a special place, and you can be a part of it! Volunteers are always needed and appreciated. To find out more about how you can volunteer at Trudy’s, email thriftstore@hillcountryspca.com or call 830-997-5700 and ask to speak with Diana Burkett.
