Chances are, if you’re visiting this site, you’ve heard of Fredericksburg Texas. In addition to being a great place to live it’s also a great destination to visit. From shopping in the quaint downtown area to hiking in Enchanted Rock State Park there’s always something fun to do.
An Ever-increasing Attraction is the Texas Hill Country Wineries
Wineries have been popping up in the area like mushrooms in the Texas Hill country, and increasing numbers of visitors are coming to sample them. A recent poll by the travel Web site Orbitz found that the Hill Country is the nation’s second-fastest-growing wine destination, behind only California’s Napa Valley.
Of Texas’ more than 160 wineries, 30 are in the Hill Country. Many of them have joined to form Wine Road 290 which has become a favorite way to entertain guest and friends. You can easily spend a whole weekend driving the stretch of 290 between Fredericksburg and Johnson City, stopping and exploring all of the outstanding wineries that make up Wine Road 290.
